Frequently Asked Questions What is Non Urgent Medical Transport?Our Ambulances transport patients that are in a stable condition. We do not attend accident sites and have no lights and sirens on our vehicles. Does this mean that the staff is not qualified?No, our ambulances carry two staff members, one driver and one qualified nurse or ambulance officer. I am an ambulance member, does that cover transport with AMT?No, Advanced Medical Transport is a private medical transport company and is therefore not covered by Rural Ambulance or the government. Does my Private Health Insurance cover transports with AMT?Some do, however arrangements for payment must be made with the insurance company before the transport takes place. Do you transport young children?Yes our ambulances are equipped to transport people of all ages. What sort of work do you do?
We transport people from hospital to hospital for appointments, tests ect. TAC and Work cover patients to appointments, people being discharged from hospital, nursing home placements, psychiatric patients. Any form of non urgent transport. Where are you based?Our head office is in Maffra, but we operate from Bairnsdale, Sale, Traralgon, Warragul, Seymour, Wangaratta and Wodonga. |
